I have watched almost all the castles of the Südtirol (anyway well spent time). I understood two things: the lowest altitude compared to Vipiteno and an almost urban environment, but I tried something else only in the Innsbruck area. The bell tower has a decidedly Tyrolean appearance.

Thank you Roberto ;-) I love to solve your Beetle things, mostly very interesting historic views from lost times, the good (?) old times...

Hi Strupletto, incredible...you did outperform yourself with this case...from me you get a masters degree in 'picture riddle solving'...and as always 'chapeau' and many many thanks! If you ever come to Munich you win a tour in a old VW beetle (with free lunch) ...count on me! ;-) Thanks again - Robert

Bellinzona Castelgrande (aka Castello d’Uri) I know quite well, but this view is extremely rare and the castle was completely restored and converted since then, in VW’s picture there are 2 columns visible in front and the left annex has only 2 stories, compare following old aerial view (1930s), that’s the condition as shown in VW’s pic external link external link

Bellinzona, Via Lugano, with Castelgrande above VW (compare 1.Link), the villa left of VW is Via Lugano 5, today Helsana Business Center (compare 2.Link, facade barely changed), church is Evangelic-Reformed Church Bellinzona (3.Link) at Viale Stefano Franscini, Switzerland external link external link external link

Hi Roberto, this was a hard (but interesting) one ;-) , your guess «area of Vipitano/Sterzing» made me search the hole north-eastern Italian Alps, then at last discouraged I tried Ticino… and BINGO – it’s SWITZERLAND
