I see what you mean, now found the other Bonlieu, which I did not know, and indeed the marker was in a tiny lake! :-)
It is more between the mountain hills, though. Cheers!

Marker was set West of Poligny, not near or in a lake. It is Franche-Comté (no 'p').
It is the Lac de Bonlieu, Jura, Franche-Comté, France.
