Hey - i received a mail that the grandchild of the man in this pic recognized him and this bus. So the solution: The photo has been taken at Ludwigstraße in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Thanks for your hints. These special licence plates were valid during american occupation from 1950-1956. And from some details on the bus i can also see that it has been built between 1950 and March of 1955. So i don't believe it is Biersack Reisen as this company just exists since 1958. But I'll try my luck - thank you for your hints. :)

Some local people also suggested "Garmisch-Partenkirchen", "Murnau" or "Oberammergau" - i will write some emails and hope that people answer me..

Robert, ask Biersack Reisen, Chamonixstrasse 4, since 1958 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, perhaps they know... external link

Very probable Garmisch-Partenkirchen as central point for excursions to Walchensee/Kochelsee/Linderhof etc and 'touristic headquarter of the region'. 35 in license plate of Bulli indicates as well Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Street type and buildings indicate as well a city and not 'something smaller', so overall Garmisch-Partenkirchen (GAP) will fit 99%...exact street: I guess you will have to walk through GAP with 'eyes open' for a while... ;-)

It hast to bee somwhere in Bavaria. The car has bavarian licence plates and the board in the background shows departure times to locations like "Schloss Linderhof", "Walchensee" or "Kochelsee". Maybe anyone recognizes the buildings in the background?
