The road connecting Sukayu Hakkoda Hotel and Yachi Onsen, closed during the winter, is reopened on April 1st. Before the opening of the road, the Hakkoda walk is held annually, in which participants walk 8 km from Sukayu to Yachi. The snow corridor, extending more than 10 m in some places, remains even after the Golden week holidays in May.
