@Rainer - you're right, it's Edinburgh! Here's a Google 3D view similar to the pic: external link
All of your assumptions are correct: M8, Glasgow Road and Edinburgh Airport. The three white lights at the forth seems to be the Queensferry Crossing bridge (M90).
To me it looks more like Edinburgh - Scotland - UK (looking northwest):

Compare the hook-like road on the upper left, it could be M8 and the straight road on the upper right of it could be Glasgow Rd. leading to Newbridge. Right of that could be the Airport. The water in the background would then be the forth.
